South Florida Tourism Industry Shines Bright

On Thursday, October 26, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) held its annual meeting and laid the groundwork for an exciting year ahead. The yearly event for industry stakeholders brings together leaders from the community and industry partners to present plans for the upcoming fiscal year from Miami-Dade's official destination marketing organization. It also highlights the accomplishments of the previous year. Highlights from fiscal year October 2022- September 2023 included:

Miami brought in $20.2 billion to the local economy, a 3% increase in earnings.

There was a 3.5% increase in overall visitation, fueled by a notable 25.3% increase in visits from Floridians and a 4.4% increase in foreign visitors.

The substantial success the organization had in securing meetings and conventions in the fiscal year 2022–2023 is a strong predictor of future hotel performance. For its hotel partners, the GMCVB sales team produced 3,280 leads in addition to a noteworthy 56% increase in confirmed bookings, with an astounding 48% increase in room nights anticipated.
